Zeta's Hope for St. Jude
What is St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital?
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the leading hospital
for children that treats and defeats childhood cancer and other
diseases using the latest technologies and care. St. Jude has helped
children from all 50 states and from countries around the world! St.
Jude helps children regardless of race, creed or color; their
treatment at St. Jude is at no cost to families, regardless of their
financial situation. Families who have children in St. Jude never
receive a bill for treatment, their travel, housing, and food is
taken care of by St.
Jude through donations. Donations made to St. Jude allow families to
only worry about helping their child live.
St. Jude’s mission is “Finding cures. Saving children. ®”, for more
than half a century they have focused on their founder’s belief that
“no child should die in the dawn of life”. Since 1962 treatments
invented at St. Jude have decreased childhood cancer mortality rates
and have pushed the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20%
to more than 80%. The knowledge gained by the research conducted at
St. Jude is freely shared around the world; doctors and scientist
use these breakthroughs to save even more lives.
What is Zeta’s HOPE for St. Jude?
Zeta’s HOPE for St. Jude is an outreach program
designed to provide help and raise money for St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital. Our children are our greatest resources; by
investing in the health and welfare of our children, we are
investing in our future. Even in its infancy, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority
committed itself to the improvement of the health and welfare of
children and their parents. Through its entire history, Zeta has
sponsored national and local projects to benefit these groups of
people. Since the late 1960s Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated
has been recognized by the public as more than just a social,
Greek-letter organization. It was around this time Zeta became known
as a Community Conscious– Action Oriented organization. In 2013 our
sorority developed a relationship with St. Jude, the hospital that
creates more clinical trials for children’s cancer than any other
hospital for children. Through education and fundraising, Zeta Phi
Beta Sorority, Inc. will collaborate with St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital to raise awareness for the treatment, prevention
and cures of pediatric cancers and thereby allowing St. Jude to
continue providing high quality treatment regardless of race, gender
or religion at no cost.
